"I want to start Kingdom Hearts but I don't know what to buy" gets a single answer on 8 October 2026. Here is what has actually been announced, and nothing else.

What is in the box

The collection bundles three existing sets: HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX (KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, Re:Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days as cinematics, KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX, and Re:coded as cinematics), HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (Dream Drop Distance HD, 0.2 Birth by Sleep and χ Back Cover as a film), and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind.

In other words, the Dark Seeker Saga — the games and the major cinematic entries — fits in this one purchase from beginning to end. The route our play-order guide (/start) covers is almost entirely contained in it.

Who it is for

For someone starting now, this is the least confusing option there has ever been: pick a platform, buy one thing, and the only question left is play order — which is what our guide is for.

Melody of Memory is not on the contents list. If you want it as the coda to the Dark Seeker Saga, it remains a separate purchase.

Released ahead of launch

On 14 September 2026, six YouTube Shorts introducing worlds from the collected games were released, covering Arendelle, the Pride Lands, Halloween Town, Enchanted Dominion, Symphony of Sorcery and the Hundred Acre Wood.
